AKUREYRI WHALE WATCHING

Our expert whale watching guides, specially trained and highly qualified, will lead you on a 2.5 to 3.5-hour tour of Eyjafjörður, the longest fjord in Iceland. They will share insights about the wildlife, nature, environmental concerns, history, and the fjord area while capturing memorable photos that you will receive after the tour.

We operate our excursions on three large boats that have been specially modified for safe whale watching experiences in Iceland. Our largest vessel is the only high-speed, purpose-built whale watching ship in the country, accommodating up to 200 passengers. With “cinema-style” viewing platforms offering stunning views and its speed ensuring eco-friendly whale watching, you’ll have an unforgettable experience, no matter where the whales are located in the fjord. The boat features plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, a bar, and a cafeteria, ensuring a comfortable journey even in challenging weather conditions.

Join us at the Whale Watching Akureyri ticket office located by the Oddeyrarbót pier, right next to the prominent round building, HOF, in downtown Akureyri. It’s easy to find!

Please make sure to arrive at our ticket office by Oddeyrarbót pier at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure to check in and receive your boarding pass.The boat is docked right next to the office, making boarding quick and easy.

Icelandic weather can change rapidly, so we recommend dressing in warm, layered clothing - even on sunny days - as it can be chilly out at sea. Complimentary overalls are available on board to help keep you comfortable throughout the tour.

We follow a strict code of conduct for responsible whale watching to ensure a respectful and safe encounter with the wildlife. Our guides will provide safety instructions at the start of the tour, so please listen carefully and don’t hesitate to ask questions during the journey.
